The Colors are an American band, formed in New York in 1958, most infamously renowned for refusing to record music. They also formed the Colors Collective in the 60s in an attempt to create new collaborative networks. The group is also renowned for numerous lineup changes though at the core are the Moler brothers, Alex and Isaac. The Collective and these line up changes and constant changing of their image, music and even name have led to them unwillingly becoming the silent advocates of the anti-copyright movement; they don't believe in the ownership of art, the ego in art or art as a product.

In the spirit of the Colors, all uploads must be copyright free. The Colors have also asserted no authorship or monetary claim over any material uploaded to this site. Hence any monetary gain from any material on this site will go back into maintaining the website. The movement of any excess funds will be voted upon by the members of the website.
